Interview with The Party Line authors, Sheryl Longin and Roger Simon

by Brian P. Kelly

The Party Line authors Sheryl Longin and Roger L. Simon recently sat down with Bill Whittle and PJTV to discuss the new play. Recently published by Criterion Books, The Party Line is a historical drama that intermingles the story of Walter Duranty—the New York Times’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Moscow correspondent in the 1930s—with the more contemporary story of Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn who was assassinated in 2002, on the eve of becoming prime minister. In the interview, Longin and Simon cover the ethics of journalism, the Walter Duranty Prize for Journalistic Mendacity, plans for future productions of the play, and Eugene Lyons—the honest journalist who inspired the character of Sid Brody.

Haven’t read The Party Line yet? Don’t worry, it is available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions.
