A sneak peak at the September issue

by Jeffrey Greggs

Posted: Aug 26, 2009 12:47 PM

The editors are delighted to present an advance look at the September 2009 issue of the The New Criterion, which features James Piereson's response to Sam Tanenhaus's new book, The Death of Conservatism. Piereson's essay examines the ways in which liberal analysts like Tanenhaus have misunderstood and misrepresented the modern conservative movement from its very beginnings. It is also an outline of conservative triumphs over the last several decades and, as such, a tonic reminder of battles won. Pace Tanenhaus, reports of conservatism’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. You can read the full essay here. Don't forget to visit again on September 1st when the rest of the issue becomes available online.
