The New Criterion

The New Criterion is probably more consistently worth reading than any other magazine in English.

The talk of the office today

is the cover article (alas, not online) in the latest New Republic, attacking Richard John Neuhaus of First Things--written by Damon Linker, formerly of First Things. The article called "Without a Doubt: A Catholic priest, a pious president, and the Christianizing of America" is a purported review of Neuhaus’s new book Catholic Matters but is rather clearly a preview of Linker’s forthcoming Theocons: Secular America Under Siege. We all eagerly await a reply at the First Things blog On the Square.

Word around the water cooler here is, Linker may have told off his old boss for the sake of secularism, but he’s going straight to hell for it.
