Poems May 1989
On a woman of spirit who taught both piano and dance
Thanks to the Powers-That-Once-Were for all rouges
And powders, those blest cosmetic subterfuges
Which were her gloss upon the book of life;
And to Madam L. herself, whose heart
Was a hummingbird’s, and flew from art to art.
