To the Editors:
Thank you for sending me your June issue, with my letter of response to James W. Tuttleton’s article on Edith Wharton.
Unfortunately, there is a misprint in the second column on page 6. The printed text reads “at Richard Howard’s insistence.” The MS I sent read “at Richard Howard’s instance.”
The phrasing as it now stands seriously misrepresents Mr. Howard’s intervention and may well embarrass him.
