To the Editors:
I have just noticed a foolish error in my article “Raymond Williams in Retrospect” (February 1990). It is true that Williams resigned from the Labour Party, but he did so not in protest against the Labour defeat but against the Labour victory at the General Election of 1966—on the ground that the victory had been achieved by Mr. Wilson’s abandoning Labour principles.
